Meet Jasmin Mejia
San Francisco, California, U.S.
When it comes to delivering projects that positively impact the communities we live, work and play, our social value and equity leaders, like Jasmin Mejia, make the difference.
Jasmin, who currently serves as the Social Value and Equity Leader in the San Francisco Bay Area of the U.S., brings 17 years of experience delivering infrastructure projects in California. As an environmental project manager, her technical background includes analyzing project impacts on the human and natural environment – across transportation, water, and land use – which brings our clients a wholistic perspective to project and program delivery.
She serves as a liaison between agencies, community-based organizations, non-governmental organizations and Jacobs, collaboratively advancing economic inclusivity, and generating social value throughout delivery on programs such as the Los Angeles World Airports Program.
Aligned with her passion for giving back to our communities, Jasmin enjoys mentoring staff by fostering a supportive and collaborative environment where team members feel valued and encouraged to grow.
Jasmin serves as the Chapter President of the WTS San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, which named Jacobs as its Employer of the Year in 2024. Her alma mater includes the California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, American University and the United Nations-mandated University for Peace.

When it comes to infrastructure investment, what role does social equity and community outreach play?
Infrastructure is the backbone of our global economy. The investment in our physical built environment directly impacts our daily experiences as it allows us to remain productive, mobile and safe. However, when these investments are coupled with inclusive community outreach and a commitment to advance social equity, the positive impact in the community multiplies. Under this new paradigm, the success of the program or project are not only based on staying on budget and schedule or the life of the infrastructure, but it’s also based on responding to community needs and generating social benefits to uplift communities for generations to come.
Focusing on social equity brings lasting impacts to the communities where we live, work and play. Is there a project you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of?
This is always a tough question. One thing I love most about my career at Jacobs is working on infrastructure projects and programs that will directly benefit our communities whether it’s through increasing the resiliency of a highway corridor, improving operation of an interchange, advancing complete streets, developing equity strategies for a water master plan, providing senior technical guidance for an equity analysis to transition a bus fleet to clean energy, or leading an inclusivity and workforce development plan.
When you aren’t working, what are we most likely to find you doing?
When I’m not working, I’m most likely exploring the trails in the East Bay, at my son’s little league or soccer game or hosting friends over for dinner.
What is your favorite part of working at #OurJacobs?
My favorite parts of working at #OurJacobs are the people, culture of caring and professional growth opportunities. I’m fortunate to be part of teams that challenge the accepted by continuously uplifting our communities through the delivery of infrastructure projects and programs.
